-- -- Akin was a bit nervous about attacking understandably-upset critters, but seeing that they were cardboard creations of Storyteller made them not real enough to hit.

-- -- The game was harmless, though Rory didn't seem to like that Amy was kissing people.

-- -- Got to help Ed put a flamel on his jacket.

-- -- Trying to explain to Anchor how Oankali sex and romance works. Akin notably left out some of the more squicky details.
-- -- Also talked a bit about the Pillar and how he had been here before.
-- -- Also, why does Sion's life have to suck so much? Akin mentions having Tino (apparently) die to protect him as a kid.

Day 257

-- -- Akin stays behind, but gets whatever he can from Jace. Probably that the dragon was partially eaten by the pillar and they had to amputate. Maybe about the relic from the Gentleman.

Day 258 -- busy day!
-- Won a memory from Haunted. (Akin was not present, as I was too busy doing terrible things to Honor)

-- -- Sion was hurt in a game, but not on a physical level. Stupid Haunted.
-- -- Had to explain to the new Ursa kid about death games. Uncomfortable.
-- -- Discussion with Jace about if the games are getting worse. It lead to Akin compiling this list
-- -- Jace also brings him in on the plan, though he only mentions SurgeonQuest obliquely as Scowl is paranoid about Canis. In return, Akin gives Jace blanket permission to alter his mind if the Judges start messing with it to get the information from him.
-- -- He also realized that he'd like to take out the Sabra animals so at least those species can be saved.
-- -- On another note, making sure Anchor is okay, and lecturing about taking care of oneself emotionally.
-- -- Akin is asked if he resents coming here. He answers that he doesn't know, because he doesn't know what his motivation was.
-- -- Ed asks him to confirm there were no terapedes laying eggs in him after the game.
-- -- Also, Rapunzel died, and Ed was bleeding. Which is worse than Aura and Dawn getting spooked and Sion fainting.
-- -- Rapunzel also lost her magic hair, and Akin notes that he could probably help hair grow, but EFFING MAGIC HOW DOES IT WORK?
-- -- Discussion on memory loss. Why do the Judges do it -- is it a way to make Blanks easier to control and/or be more willing to depend on their teams?
-- -- Seriously, Judges, you don't have to be dicks about this. Akin knows enough about human nature to realize that even if the Judges were upfront, they may be able to get people to play in their death games in their cave that eats people.
-- -- Akin considers King, Surgeon and Weaver siblings**. He also wonders what Surgeon's motivations were for risking his and his sister's life to show the Blanks the history of SLT.

-- -- Bones asked him to be the Voice of Reason Healer while he's away. And to especially balance Jace's Shounen Leader tendencies.
-- -- Akin also got to share some favorite foods with the group.

-- -- Psychic links are useful. Especially when you worry you can't damp your own fear response.
-- -- What isn't useful is taking in sensory impressions a lot easier than humans, and remembering living starships.

-- -- Akin also insisted that he wouldn't actively help unless Canis acted as one. If Canis couldn't achieve a consensus or decided to hold people back, Akin insisted on being part of that group so they would have a veteran.
-- -- Also, Cygnus's dorm being eaten is a bad sign, even if they had two people left.
-- -- Two people was a bad sign, and few teams are full right now.
-- -- Last time, there was a list of Pillar'd teammates left in a journal, and no one had seen the black team until they were Pillar'd.

Day 259 (whew!)

-- -- Asking Ed for two pairs of gloves from one of his leather jerkins and to modify his shoes to better fit Oankali feet.
-- -- Del is going to try to fix Rapunzel.
-- -- Talked a bit about Oankali ships and towns with Ed, that all Oankali tools are alive.
-- -- It's kind of comforting to talk about home and not have people unsettled by the whole alien biotechnology thing.
-- -- Also, self-reflection with Ed. Akin notes he's asking a lot of questions he didn't when he was growing up.

-- -- Akin checks on Del, post RapunzelHeart

* Mostly his digestive system is all 'ethanol is bad' and starts either neutralizing it or encasing it in something to get it out of Akin's system. Either way, he doesn't get drunk and gets to deal with the discomfort of poison. If Akin was still a child, he could be affected, but still probably wouldn't find it pleasant.

** No, it doesn't bother him that King and Weaver were also married -- no incest taboo. It does make him want to type Surgeon as ooloi rather than male -- between the creepy aesthetic sense and mad biology skills, plus if you have three siblings born in close order, that's how it should work out.
